I have the latest bootcamp drivers for apple that were updated in early feb (2014) so I know that's not the issue and i have also tried reinstalling the bootcamp drivers but it just seems to do it again after a reboot.
I read somewhere that disabling the generic PnP monitor under device manager might fix it but im worried that it will disable my laptop's screen altogether and have to redo my bootcamp partition all over again. My bigger issue is that the laptop's brightness is set to a certain level when i boot up in windows 8.1 and i can't change the level of it.
